The following sermon was preached by Rev. Calum I. Macleod on the Sabbath Morning of 24th of May, 2009. On this infamous day it is a particularly beautiful message to the penitent but a warning to those covenant people, who have made light of His holy law. Despite our many provocations God pardons great sins. He has power over our sin and He will subdue our iniquities. He also, has promised to save His people.
The text is Micah 7:18-20… Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. (This recording contains the entire service).
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity.
