The following sermon was preached by Rev. Calum I. Macleod on the Sabbath Morning of 31st of May, 2009. The days of Elijah have many parallels in our own. The unrighteous abound in the nation, ungodly men are in power, idolatry increases and the whole nation defies God. But God always has his man to face the situation. This is a cheering word of encouragement to weary saints; in the life of Elijah we can see that The Lord is bringing about His purposes even in these dark days of declension in both the Church and the State.
The text is 1Ki 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. (This recording contains the entire service).
As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand.
