The following sermon was preached by Rev. Alan Maciver on the sabbath Morning, 18th of July, 2009. A sermon under three headings. 1. The soul’s conviction; that God is the living God. He is alive and will be with his people always. 2. The soul’s confession; my soul thirsteth for God. Is this the attitude we have when we come to God’s House? 3. The soul’s concern; when shall I come and appear before God? The cry of the heart longing for a better place when it no longer enjoys the blessings that it once enjoyed here below.
The text is Psalm 42… As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
so panteth my soul after thee, O God
