thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

The following sermon was preached by Rev. Calum I. Macleod on the Sabbath Evening 20th September 2009. God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, His pleasure is in seeing sinners turning from their wicked ways and returning unto Christ, the Saviour. Ezekiel was called to be a watchman; a spiritual watchman warning the people from God. He was accountable if he failed to warn them concerning the nature of God’s judgements and the consequences of not heeding His word. We too, like Jesus, must warn sinners of the wrath to come. We need to pray for sinners to be saved but prayer alone is not enough. The Gospel of Jesus Christ alone is that warning message of salvation for mankind and we make a mockery of that Gospel if we only pray for sinners but do not witness to them also.

The text is Ezekiel 33:7…So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
