Preacher: Rev Gavino Fioretti
Malachi 2: 17 – 3: 18
(1 Corinthians 16: 1, 2) Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come. (ESV)
- Giving is God’s will – we give joyfully, we give sacrificially
- Giving is about God’s people – reveals our desires, our priorities, our faith
- Giving is for God’s house – (temple) provision of a building where God is to be worshipped, (priests) provision for a pastor to study God’s word to open it to the people, (widows) provision for the needy
- God’s promises are attached to giving (Malachi 3: 10) Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Put God to the test. He will bring blessing (maybe in this life, maybe in the life to come).
