Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead

The following sermon was preached by Rev. Calum I. Macleod on the Sabbath Evening, 28th of March, 2010. That we are justified by faith alone is one of foundational truths of Biblical Christianity. How then are we to understand James in his general epistle, where he states that, “by works a man is justified, and not by faith only”? This message looks at the relationship between our words, our actions and our faith. Even the fallen angels have a form of faith, and they tremble. How can we know if our faith is genuine?

The text is James 2:17,24… Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. … Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead
