His praises: Jesus quotes this Psalm in response to the chief priests and scribes who were offended that children where worshipping him (Matthew 21:16).

His salvation: The author to the Hebrews quotes this psalm when he speaks of Jesus as the founder of our salvation. In Hebrews 2:9 he interprets Psalm 8: “But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone”. Jesus is the second Adam who restores what the first Adam lost.

His dominion: Ephesians 1:22 and 1 Corinthians 15:27 quote from this Psalm as God giving to his Son the dominion.

His return: At his return we’ll see fulfilled.
